Frequently Asked Questions:
“Why does the 300 series need a flare kit?”
The standard factory flare on the 300 series only provides 10mm of coverage beyond the full width of the tyre. Legally the flare and mudflap must cover the external width of the tyre. Anything beyond one tyre size up on the factory tyre size should technically and legally carry the extended flare and mudflap. 300 series standard factory tyres have a wheel rim offset of +60mm. As JMACX upgrades your GVM, flares are required when you have tyres fitted that are more than 275mm wide, with a max wheel rim offset larger than +60mm.
When fitting these flares if you are having a bull bar fitted then your installer will require trimming to suit the bar for proper fitment with additional caps. Your installer will arrange fitment and painting of your flares, contact them for your colour selection.
Unsure if you really need flares? We recommend future proofing your vehicle with the flare kit. Commonly 4×4 owners prefer the larger tyre size that will require the flare kit for road safety and aesthetics purposes.
“Why does the GVM remove the rear seating?”
The 300 Series GVM upgrade makes your vehicle a medium goods carrying vehicle. Goods carrying vehicles over 3500Kg need to have a load carrying space so the rear seats must be removed if you have a model with 7 seats.
